Belgrade Out There offers visitors to Belgrade a unique excursion to the popular Kalenic open market. Kalenić Market is the leading place in Belgrade to buy fresh, organic food, and is also the destination of choice for locals wishing to purchase a vast range of fresh-cut flowers and potted plants, antique products, religious candles and Orthodox icons.
Time spent at Kalenic Market is a fascinating window in on real day to day life in Belgrade, and should not be missed!
Our tour also includes a visit to the Tesla Museum, a unique institution of science and culture. It is the only museum in the world which preserves the original and personal inheritance of Nikola Tesla, the genius who was responsible for advances in the development of electricity. Without Tesla, today's world would be a much darker, colder place, and understanding Tesla's influence on modern society is also a lesson in history and culture that better allows us to understand how the world has developed in the past 100 years.
We continue our tour with a trip to the atmospheric Cathedral of Saint Sava, the largest Orthodox church in the world. The church is dedicated to Saint Sava, founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and an important figure in medieval Serbia. From its location, it dominates Belgrade's skyline, and is a national treasure, much loved by all Serbs.
A delicious lunch at a traditional Serbian restaurant is also included in our Kalenic Market tour.
